JAKARTA. Foreign companies began to aggressively add the number of gas stations in the country. Limitation of fuel subsidy to make foreign investors more fanged grab market share.

Other foreign companies that are very expansive is Petronas. Malaysia-based company currently has 18 retail outlets. 13 filling stations which are in Greater Jakarta, 1 located in Bandung and four are in Medan.
While Shell's Dutch distributor company began expansion since 2005, following international pressure for Indonesia liberalized industrial markets. Shell now owns 45 gas stations that still largely concentrated in big cities in Java.
VP Country Manager Shell Indonesia, Walih Saleh said Shell will continue to develop this gas station business in the future. "Business is right for the long term rather than short term," said Walih.
Shell gas station sells 92-octane fuel with the product name Super 92. For 95-octane fuel, named Shell Super Extra 95. Shell gas stations also sell diesel fuel. In the year 2010 and then to the government of Shell is committed to building a total of 500 gas stations from 2007 until 2012.
